I practically fall through the door. I am tired, and home from dance. I run up to my room, and straight to the corner where my pet rats live I open the cage doors Muffin runs out Cookie runs out Now, I am with my little girls. Cookie wants an ear scratch Muffin begs for a chocolate chip OK fine, but I’m not cleaning the sticky mess off of your face Runaway rats! I chase them out the door Whenever I catch one, the other disappears Muffin heads for the bottom shelf of the bookcase Ah ha! I’ve gotcha now! No hard feelings? I love you again. Wait! Where’s Cookie? Hold on. The blankets in the closet are moving. Here she is Her twitching whiskers tell me of her adventure in the closet Now, we are together again. Time for dinner! Goodbye Muffin, Goodbye Cookie I’ll be back soon. |
