I chose my this dark background because I wanted to look mysterious in a way. I'm staring off somewhere, which adds to the mystery. When I chose the background I was thinking about what I was thinking about. I could be thinking or staring at anything really so I decided to make my picture sort of have a mystery behind it,
The first thing we did was take pictures out in the courtyard. Will took 9 pictures of me. I chose my best five by looking for which five photos had the best poses and lighting. Next we had to chose 3 pictures to make black and white, and the other 2 pictures I chose had to be experimental. With the 3 black and white we got to adjust the color in any way I wanted. For the 3 black and white we had to only use exposure, contrast, and the levels. The picture I liked the best was one of my experimental pictures that looked like somebody painted a portrait.
The first thing we did was open up photo booth and take 10 pictures. Then we had to choose our best 5, we used 2 as an experimental photo in which we could play around with the color in any way we liked to. We had to leave the other three black and white and balance the darks and lights; we balanced the darks and lights by only using three tools: levels, contrast, and exposure in a program called Preview. We also had to crop out unnecessary background so it could be focused on our face. Then we finally printed the picture we liked the best to get critiqued by our other classmates. My favorite part was when we got to see everybody else’s pictures.
