In my Evanston
I wake up in the morning and smell the pancakes my mom makes for breakfast. Now I’m wide awake.
I run upstairs to the kitchen.
She knows I am there as my footsteps echo off the wood floor.
I ask her if I can go skateboarding with my brothers and
she said maybe after you eat. I sit and wait.
I wait and wait and wait
until she brings the
plates and of course the pancakes and cups of Milk.
My family wakes up and we eat.
I ask my Mom again she says if your other brothers go, too, then you can go.
I ask them. They say yes. We walk across the long field to go to Robert Crown.
Once we get there we stomp our feet on the floor to get the mud out.
We skate board for hours then I ask if we can go home. They say “okay, in a minute.”
We go home and play on the ps3 and on my ps3 I play Minecraft.
I play until dinner. I get off of the game and eat.
I go brush my teeth and get ready for bed.
I lay down and stare at the dark ceiling.
I hear footsteps coming down the stairs.
My brothers. I guess it’s my little brother, Michael. He asks if we can play with him,
draw, or play legos. We play for awhile then our Dad calls him
to the stairs and he leaves.
I go back under the covers and close my eyes and fall asleep.
