During the trimester I had media arts, I learned about lots of new websites, programs, and tools. My favorite project was the In My Evanston because, I got to take pictures of my everyday life. Photography is very interesting to me because you can take a simple thing, and make it express itself even further. At first, all you really see is an ordinary scene or object, but when you take a picture of it, you make it into something new. From this project I learned a lot about good photography, and taking a good quality picture. Next year, I think you should continue the stop motion project. It was the most fun class project because it was based on using your imagination, to create an idea and bring it to life. Overall, Media Arts, was really fun because there were so many projects and I learned a lot while having a great time.
Using Aurasma was an interesting way to learn about other peoples experiences. I thought it was cool that one trigger image, could show you the world through someone else's eyes. As I was watching, I was also wondering about how the technology actually works. With Aurasma you can go anywhere and see what other people see, and hear their perspective on the world around you.
In my Evanston, the kind words of people wash over your mind with a soft and silky swish of emotion.
The winter wind meets your face with a cold but welcoming touch. You feel the “thump” as the wheel of your bike hits a crack in the sidewalk. You see your friends coming towards you with a friendly smile that can light up any darkness. I watch the waves of Lake Michigan crash upon the shore as little kids run as fast as their little feet can carry them giggling as the waves approach, and I see the sun dance on the soft, hot sand. The words in my book dance around in my head as if its a canvas and the words, a brush. Allowing me to explore faraway places while remaining here, in the Evanston Public Library. I step in a puddle as I walk down the street. Trees sway to the music of the wind and the birds. Squirrels run down the street down the street as if its a race against the wind. I approach school hearing the laughter and seeing the smiles on my friends faces. I see the steps up to my apartment. I check to see if there is any mail in the mailbox. I look down my street and see everything in the distance. I smell the damp ground after a light drizzle. The people walk down the busy streets of downtown Evanston weaving in and out of the small shops. I walk through the courtyard on my way to my next class. The cars slowly move down the block. I drive past my future high school and think about what it will be like. I see the flowers opening up to the call of springtime. I walk my dog around the block and she explores everything in sight. Evanston is where my heart will always live. |
