my winter poem
Living in Evanston is like a cool breeze. I wake up in the morning and splash water on my face. I feel a cool relaxing burst of winter breeze. I dress in my warm, freshly ironed clothes in the morning. When I walk out of my house for a new day, I skate around in the new slush, almost falling, but I make it out okay. I walk to school coming to my favorite area of the schoolyard that is like a mini ice rink with combinations of ice and slush. I continue my journey to school waiting to go to class so I can learn. Along comes Friday and everyone is fully energized and ready to go home. We are excited to go to stores to buy shoes, shirts, and pants. I can’t wait to get home to my nice, cozy place where it always hot and it feels like it summer inside. But I know it still winter. Taking off my street clothes, I jump into bed just waiting to fall asleep. |
