Today I want to figure out a way to stop the roof of our time machine from concaving. I also want to figure out if we want to write scripts for our characters and if so, what to write in them.
Today my goal is to start finalizing the costumes. I want to paint the breastplate and finish coloring the sword.
Reflection on the Cardboard Challenge:
I think the Cardboard Challenge is all about working as a team to overcome obstacles. In my group we had many challenges that we had to cooperate in order to overcome. One example of this is that our group wanted silver paint to make our time machine look more futuristic. Unfortunately, we didn't have silver paint. What we did to fix this was we added silver paper to the sides. This added texture as well as color and, when we added lights on the sides, it made the cardboard glow. we worked together to fix this problem we came across and in doing this, we leaned that working together in life is a great way to deal with the difficulties that come with it. My game is called Dr. When's Time Machine. You can climb in and take a wild trip through time. We have lights on the outside and the inside and a screen on the inside. You have the option of going into the past to medieval times or going into the future.
A thing that went well in our group was fixing the door of the box. It had started to bend out and we put rulers as supports to make it straight again. My goal for today is to start decorating the robot head and making the suit of armor.
My goal for today is to finish the decorations and possibly start painting the box.
What we did was we painted the front of the box white, we still have the other three sides. Nya will bring lights tomorrow and well also start working on the costumes for the skits. My goal for today is to paint our styrofoam decorations. I also want to find out if thee is silver paint available to paint the whole structure.
My goal for today is to get the top of our box fully secured on and possibly start painting.
1. What has your group worked on so far?
Our group started by attaching three sides of our big box to the bottom. The fourth side is our door. Next, to make our structure a little bit taller, we added one of the boxes from the computers to the top of the box. We also worked on making "screen" for the inside of the Time Machine. We used the image of the computer from the side of the computer box and we wrote "Welcome to Dr. When's Time Machine" on it. 2. What are one challenges your group faced? Our group was faced by the challenge of figuring out how to attach the sides of the box. We tried tape, which didn't hold very well and hot glue, which wasn't thick enough and it dried too quickly. 3. How did you overcome these challenges (or work around them)? We used wood glue to attach the sides and bottom. So far it seems to be holding pretty well. The only problem is that it's really drippy and takes a while to dry. Wood glue didn't work for the top, though, so we had to stick with tape. 4. What is the next step for your group? We have to start thinking abut decorations. We might want to use paint but in order to make out time machine look more future-esque, we need to add things like bottle caps and styrofoam pieces, etc. 5. What are your favorite parts about woking on this project so far? I like how we can create something really awesome out of only cardboard and I love watching our machine come together. 6. What parts have been the most difficult? For me, the most difficult thing has been trying to put our box together in the right way without it falling apart. My goal for today is to start glueing our structure and start finalizing decorations.
