I think one thing you can definitely show with a self-portrait is your emotion. Not only by a face expressing but by your surroundings and what your wearing, doing. You could also take a self portrait to stop or start a cause. It all depends on whats in the self-portrait. The possibilities are endless.

it could communicate what they like to do so if they liked to play sports your "self-portrait would be about you playing that sport.

A portrait might be about how a person feels and it can represent who they are.

For this picture I would make it about breast cancer. I would wear all pink. I would do this picture because my mom had it and it was a really hard time for me. I would have my facial expression to be strong but scared. Just like my mom was. I would also do this because many of people have died from cancer. It’s a thing that we can’t stop. Hopefully we can stop it one day. I’m very fortune that my mom made it pass the surgery.

A portrait can be about expressing yourself, something special to you. A portrait can be almost anything you want it to be.

A portrait could be about your traditions in your own country, how your fashion sense is. to show your personality our show your 1 out of a million side of the world and show people your one of a kind. Some people had to change there culture, tradition, anything that helps people know who they are. and if the do a portrait they would say this who I am.taking stand for what you believe in.

It can be about how you feel, what you like, what you do, where you like to be at. It can be about your pain and you express it by drawing/ painting. It can be about what you love, it can just be normal. It can be about style or it can just be about your personality.

I think artists make self portraits because they want to express themselves. They want people to know what they are going through, by showing their facial expressions.

A self portrait should express your true emotions.

It can show your emotion and how you relate to the places around. It can show interests, likes, dislikes, feelings, places and hobbies. Depending on how you choose to present yourself, you can find out almost anything from the portrait.

for this picture I would be outside with an expression on my face of being sad yet with an amazing feeling to be able to know my grandfather before he passed from lung cancer and to know his stories and his background. I would be holding a toy airplane because he was in the navy and before he died he gave me a box with airplanes and boats and seeing those kinds of toys mean a lot to me

For my picture I'd use breast cancer as my main subject to communicate with viewers about it. I'd have pink sports outfit on since my dream is to be a football player but it would also be to honor her since she past. I'd have a sad but fierce look on my face to show that even the sad can be fierce #inspired by Julia Shoaf.

I think that artists make self-portraits to illustrate on paper part of their personality or just to show themselves in an artistic way. In a self-portrait, you can communicate something that you feel, some part of your personality, what interests you and more. You can show so much in one picture or self-portrait.
